Satara Australia Warranty: Satara Australia Pty Ltd ABN
(“Satara Australia” or “we” or “us” or “our” ), of 13 Cochranes Road, Moorabbin Vic 3189 provides this warranty (“Warranty”) for its products that have been purchased in Australia. This Warranty is subject to the Australian Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (“Australian Consumer Law”). The benefits provided in this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, and any other laws in relation to the products to which this Warranty relates. The Warranty period commences from the date of sale. The period of the Warranty will be:
(a) 3 years for indoor and outdoor furniture (residential use only)
(b) No warranty for home decor items for claims later than 7 days from date of purchase of goods.
(c) 1-2 years for commercial use for indoor and outdoor furniture depending on product model and specified use.
Sataras' liability under this warranty is to replace, repair or refund (at its discretion) any product that has a manufacturing or material defect that is not the result of normal wear and tear, or a natural characteristic of the material used or excluded from the warranty.
Exclusions: Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, this Warranty does not apply to any products sold as seconds, floorstock, clearance items, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the customer’s attention before the purchase of the product.
The warranty excludes cushions, protective covers , fabrics and ropes and excludes changes due to normal wear and tear, fading from outdoor weather, breakages caused by malicious treatment or misuse, deterioration caused from lack and/ or inadequate care, damage caused by erroneous maintenance, colour variations in timber finishes and fabrics/ropes due to ageing and applied finishes or client customisations without acceptance by the manufacturer.
Variations in natural product finishes such as timber, marble, stone and fabrics, which do not impair the wearing qualities, durability or functionality, are not considered faults. Colour Fastness and/or matching of colours, grains or textures of natural materials and finishes are not warrantied. Individual fabric suppliers can provide warranties relating to performance. However, if any covering is agreed to be defective, every effort will be made to negotiate a satisfactory settlement with the fabric supplier on your behalf.
Damage such as dents, scratches, marks and tears to fabrics or fibres that have happened during normal use are not covered by this warranty. Cracks, which may appear in the end grain of teak when exposed to the elements, and any change of appearance due to usual weathering are considered entirely natural for teak outdoor furniture and are not covered by this warranty. Due to the nature of solid timber furniture , any splits, cracks in the end grain, hollow knots, twisting of timber over time or degradation of the sapwood when indoors or outdoors are considered entirely natural and are not covered by this warranty.
The Warranty excludes any freight costs associated with the return of faulty goods and re-supply of replacement items.
Warranty Rectification Process: During the warranty period and at the company’s discretion, Satara will repair and/or replace, at no cost, any product, part or component deemed as defective, provided the item has undergone normal use (see warranty exclusions). An inspection of the product, to determine the nature and cause of the fault, is required by a representative from Satara. If a representative cannot visit the site, photographs of the damage/fault will be requested in order to identify the cause of the concern and formulate a method of repair. If Satara is unable to repair the product on site, the item will be collected to be repaired off site. Availability of components will depend on the origin of the product. Regular cleaning and maintenance is recommended (Please refer to our standard care and maintenance recommendations).
To claim under the Warranty, first contact Satara Australia for further information. You will require proof of purchase as well as detailed photos of the item in-situ with closeups of the warranty problem and photos of the whole piece.
