DNA of Design - by Andy and Deb from The Block 2019.
Their epic challenge - to renovate and restore The Oslo Hotel in St Kilda - saw them take the old backpacker’s hostel and help turn it into five luxury homes, acknowledging the building’s past while adding a modern flair.
Deb's trademark for coastal styling evoked so much emotion that it even reduced judge Shaynna Blaze to tears on one occasion (tears of joy, that is). Shaynna loved Deb's eye for design so much, she ended up encouraging her to pursue a path in professional interior design.
Deb did exactly that. She completed her studies in 2022 and is now a certified Interior Decorator and Stylist.
Together, Andy and Deb now help all Aussies find inspiration and get through their design dilemmas with helpful tips, insights, and knowledge that span across all kinds of interior and exterior styles.
Everything they now do is an extension of their easygoing philosophy that's made them so popular with The Block viewers in the first place. In DNA of Design, you can expect to see sophisticated, yet accessible design that every Aussie can bring into their own home. By thinking a little outside the square and doing what they love, Andy and Deb bring such a fun and unique energy to everything that they do.
This is a brand-new lifestyle home & renovation series with a focus on creating beautiful spaces inspired by wellness, lifestyle, togetherness, and the stunning natural surrounds of the QLD bush.
House 02, named ‘Unearthed’ sees a brand-new renovation unfold. Deb and Andey take a mismatched, outdated home and bring it into the 21st century. Located on the Gold Coast once more, you’ll be able to discover even more practical tips for your own reno projects.
